Snake and Ladder, a beloved classic across Bandung and Indonesia, is a game of chance that sparks joy and nostalgia. Played on a colorful board, it takes players on an unpredictable journey of climbing ladders and sliding down snakes. More than just a pastime, this childhood favorite is a neighborhood staple—bringing together families and friends in laughter, suspense, and shared memories.
Set Up the Board:
Use a square board numbered from 1 to 100, with snakes and ladders connecting different spaces.
Each player chooses a token and places it on the starting square (number 1).
Get a six-sided die ready.
Decide Who Goes First:
Each player rolls the die. The highest roller starts the game.
Start Playing:
On your turn, roll the die and move your token forward the number of spaces shown.
Follow the numbers in ascending order along the board’s path.
Climb the Ladders:
If you land on a square with the base of a ladder, climb it to the square at the top—it’s your lucky break!
Slide Down the Snakes:
If you land on a square with a snake’s head, slide down to the square where its tail ends. Ouch—but don’t give up!
Rolling a 6:
If you roll a 6, you get another turn. Roll again and move forward!
Winning the Game:
The first player to land exactly on square 100 wins the game.
If you roll a number that would take you past 100, you stay where you are and wait for your next turn
